Style guide

Use these tokens on every post. The same values are written down in BRAND.md for editors who are working in the repository.

Logo

The mark is a square masthead in the button teal, with a paper page and a short headline rule. The wordmark is “AI News & Reviews” in the site serif. No personal name sits under it. Do not stretch the square or set the mark on a photograph.

Clear space on every side is the height of the square. The same plate, on a teal tile, is the favicon.

Color

Paper and ink do the work. Teal is for links, buttons, and a single mark. Copper is for a score. Toggle the theme control to check the dark values; the chips follow the theme.

A number is allowed to mean what the test measured. The sentence next to it names the set, the date, and who paid for the run. If those three are missing, the number stays in the body and out of the headline.

Tone

Write the way a careful editor talks to a reader who has already seen the press release.

Publish sentences like these

  • “The changelog lists a 256,000-token window. We did not measure it.”
  • “Ranked for citation hygiene, not for price.”
  • “The score is 7.4 because the tool invented a footnote.”

Leave these out

  • “This changes everything.”
  • “The leading AI-powered platform.”
  • A score with no sentence that says what would move it.
  • A sample post that is not labeled in the title and in the banner.

First person plural is for something the desk did. The vendor stays in the third person. One numeric claim per sentence. Say what was not tested.

Set sample: true and, when the default banner is the wrong sentence, setsampleNote. Keep the word “Sample” in the title until the facts are real.

Review score

7.4out of 10

A pleasant editor for a first pass, and a poor clerk. The score is a specimen, not a measurement.

Pros

  • The manuscript view is one column, with no score rings.
  • A quote stays in quotes when the hold control is on.

Cons

  • Citations pointed at sources that were never in the notebook.

Ranked list

Ordered byOne job, stated before the names. This specimen is ordered by how checkable a citation is.
